OIL PAINTING
Ann Willsie Course #102 AND #105 This workshop is designed for those wanting to learn basic techniques for painting in oils. I will be demonstrating underpainting, which is a great way to start a painting; how to overcome the fear of the empty canvas; . I will also be showing you different ways to apply paint, mix colors ,various techniques and basic clean up and storage issues. Course #102 2 day workshop for beginners Course #105 5 day workshop for beginners/intermediate This workshop will be more intensive than the 2 day workshop and will cover more subjects and painting techniques



PAINTING BIG & BOLD
Nancy Hache Course #103 AND #106 This workshop is all about having fun with color and painting big and bold in a relaxed environment. Learn the basics of acrylics and enjoy playing with color and texture and working with light and shadow. Students will work from a floral image as well as fresh flowers in class to use as reference, guidance will be offered throughout the workshop. Artist Nancy Hache will walk you through her process from beginning to end! This is a more intensive workshop Course #103 5 day workshop for beginners/intermediate this Workshop will be more intensive than the 2 day workshop and will cover more subjects and techniques Course #106 2 day workshop for beginners .




INTRODUCTION TO ACRYLICS AND MIXED MEDIA
Donna Swain Course #101 Indulge yourself in this four day course to experience Acrylic paint and several Acrylic Mediums. You will learn how to create different textures and add mixed media to enhance the process. Each day will add a new perspective and criteria to our mix. This workshop also integrates the use of collage and introduces real Gold leaf. Subject matter will range from what we see every day, and what we feel. Textural elements do not make a painting by itself, this course provides essential knowledge of colour theory and compositional design. Every day we will be unfolding new delights on canvas. Beginner friendly, be sure to bring an open mind and the willingness to experiment

ACRYLICS for BEGINNERS DONNA SWAIN
Course #104 Acrylic paint and mixed mediums will be used to create different textures, as well as adding simple mixed media and collage to enhance the process of the paintings. Subject matter will be what surrounds us. Course provides basic colour theory and compositional skills. Beginner friendly, be sure to bring an open mind and a willingness to experiment.

FLOW INTO ABSTRACTION DONNA SWAIN
Course #107 The purpose of this workshop is to stay loose throughout the process. Our focus will be on simple things that will add to the experience of using the elements of abstraction. Allowing music and other exercises to clear the mind we will focus on designing in colour, shape, value, and composition that works. Directed to every painter who wishes to breathe more abstract expressionism into their work while trusting the process.


Biography Donna Swain 
Donna Swain finds inspiration from her surroundings, whether it be our stunning Coastal landscape or the shapes, colours and textures in our midst. Donna has studied Fine Arts at UBC and taken many exceptional workshops in Canada and the United States. Her painting passions are expressed thru expressionistic landscape and abstracted works. She regularly instructs workshops on the Coast and in Vernon covering a wide variety of subjects from the basics to advanced levels. Donna has shown in many juried shows in Canada and the U.S. Donna currently shows her work in Galleries on the Coast, the Okanagan and Vancouver. Donna's art has been published and hangs in corporate offices in several countries around the world, such as Germany China, India, Dubai and personal collections include United States and Poland.


Biography Nancy Hache 
Nancy Hache is a Sunshine Coast area artist who resides in Gibsons and works out of her studio in Gibsons Landing. Nancy is a self-taught artist, who credits a great deal of her abilities to growing up in a family where painting, pottery and music were a shared passion. Nancy paints in acrylic medium and utilizes a broad spectrum of polymers and gels as well as acrylic inks. Nancy continued her exploration as an artist at St Lawrence College and the Ottawa School of Art. Nancy has been juried and shown in the Ottawa Fine Art Festival and at numerous gallery shows across the Ottawa Valley. "Painting is my passion, it is what I am always thinking of and dreaming about"

Biography Ann Willsie
With a family background in the arts, Ann was influenced from an early age to explore creative avenues. Being primarily self-taught, she began working with oil paints in the eighties, exploring both color and technique. In 1997 Ann attended Kwantlen University College Fine Arts program, where she achieved the Dean's Honour Roll Status. She continues to take painting and drawing workshops with various professional artists.Ann is a member of the Sunshine Coast Arts Council, the Gibsons Public Art Gallery, West Vancouver Arts Council, as well as an Active member of the Federation of Canadian Artists. She has attended numerous workshops and classes of local artists and instructors, and has participated in public art projects at Kwantlen University College and in Fort Langley. Her works have been exhibited in the Lower Mainland, Vancouver Island, the Sunshine Coast and Hong Kong
